My daugther and her family, partner and three children, 10,8,3. The middle one suffers from asthma. They live in a housing associtaion house that only has electric. So therefor the heating is with electric storage heaters. They did replace them a few years ago as the other ones where very old. But now it has turned so cold they just arent working very well. As people know they let out heat in the day but by the evening it has all been used up. Also it just eats the money in no time. With all this on TV about energy saving itsnt there something she can claim for to make the heating better.?

warm front grant. she'll have to ask landlord tho
Two ways to improve it -
Change the source to gas
put more insulation in / draughtproof better
The landlord is obliged to fund neither, however see bednobs answer above
ps the conservatives are going to be scrapping warm front so hurry up!
the other thing i thought of for an interim measure is for her to buy a calor gas fire, or some portable radiators
