please can anyone help l have a washing machine its a amica model awct 10l., my problem is when l have finished washing and emptied the machine of washing the smell of stagnent water is becoming really bad tonight when l camre home l could smell it when going into the kitchen, because its foreign the leaflet that came with it says nothing on this matter can anyone help and tell us how to get rid of this problem thank you.

Sometimes this works as today's washing tabs liquid etc wash on a very cool wash and so do not seem to get rid of the bacteria that seems to build up inside the machines. You could also take a look at the link below to see if it gives you a few more ideas. Another AB member alavahalf put this on when someone elso asked a similar question.

Yep, best thing to sort that is to run it empty on the hottest wash. Before starting the wash pour a small bottle of white vinegar into the drum. Let it progress through the cycle. Do the same again, this time putting some of your detergent in the drawer, or just use some soda crystals instead. Again, hottest wash with nothing in it.
After that, make sure you leave the door of it open so the drum can dry out. Same goes for when you've just washed clothes, leave the washer door open as long as possible so it dries out. You should find that the smell goes away.
