I had to have all the water drained from the house so that work could be done replacing a valve downstairs which is part of the heating system.
Everything is fine but the radiator in the upstairs bedroom makes a loud noise when the heating is on as if it was refilling or emptying.
Anyone know why it makes this noise?

Thanks to both of you for the prompt answers.
I have bled the bleeding things but I suspect not enough.
Will have a go in the morning.
Thanks again.
Might seem a silly thing to say, but dont forget to turn the heating OFF before bleeding the rads.
Why? It helps when there is circulation.
It has been known for the pump to suck air back in, so if the noises persist, try it with system off. HTH Tez.
have you tried bleeding it ?
