unblocking toliet without plunger
34 Answers
I have flushed a number of times and the water just fills the bowl and takes hours to flow away, tryed hot kettle water, even drain unblocker. Is there any ideas without having to buy a plunger. Is there something fizzy or something like bi carb or something in the kitch cupboard? I have not put the brush in there yet either... I havent wanted to.....I won't go into detail

You could roll up your sleeve, or take your top clothing off, and feel around the bend for what is causing the problem. That needs no plunger.
If you don't find it there, it is further down the pipe. As others have mentioned, check the manhole in the back garden for clues. It that filling up or is the blockage between it and the toilet ?
I'm unsure a plunger will have a large effect, one of those wire things you push and twist might be better. It can grab paper, towels, nappies, whatever, further down and shift it.

You may need to bite the proverbial bullet here.
Wrap you hand and arm in a dustbin liner and have a firk around - you'll get a better idea of the blockage is something solid like a piece of pipework, or ... not because you can use your senfe of touch.
When you withdraw your hand, use your other hand to gently unravel the liner over your hand, turning it inside out - you have probably seen your supermarket butcher or fishmonger do this as a way to wrap food without touching it.
Screw up the liner and bin it.
Good luck.
