Have a small garden which is all gravel. Grass is growing up through the gravel and weed killer hasn't done the trick (I've checked I'm not using weed killer that is ok to use to on grass). What else can I do to get rid of the grass?

Have you got a membrane under the gravel? We are all gravel and we laid a sheet right across the area before we gravelled. However, you still get dust and particles and the tiniest hope for a grass seed will let it flourish. We either use spot weed killer on the bits which appear on the surface above the membrane, or just pull 'em out.

No, I don't think there is a membrane under it. We're in a rented house and apparantly the bloke who used to own it was very green fingered so planted lots of things that he could control but sadly I can't. Am struggling with it all a bit.
Use SBK ... Follow instructions exactly ... Spray CAREFULLY.
Don't cut/trim grass/weeds first.
it is too cold for most to work at the moment. Use one containing glyphosate in the spring.
Napalm ............ Milly, er, or a flame-gun .............. you can tell I don't do gardening, but ............. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"

I was driving past a pub a while back and noticed a guy with some sort of flame gun on the patio, which I assumed he was using to de-weed. I'm very tempted to try that but I'm more likely to end up burning the village down.

Thanks for the answers, will take a look at the suggestions you've given.
You'll need a residual herbicide which puts a barrier down and kills off any emerging seedlings. However, you'll first need to kill the existing weeds with a systemic herbicide such as roundup.

I believe pathclear is pretty good and will do both the above jobs but have a look in the garden centre first
The flame guns are a waste of time...they're ok for zapping newly emerged annual seedlings which have soft, delicate stems which damage easily but other than that....forget it.

As a head gardener, ive tried most things and i binned my flame gun after a week.
