Squirrel antics......
8 Answers
I've just got a new bird feeder, to hold seeds and nuts and it's advertised as 'Squirrel proof'. ( I feed the squirrels too, I'm not mean) Anyway I've just sat in the conservatory and watched this one squirrel try very hard to get the nuts. He went away and I thought he'd given up, but ten minutes later, he was back with a mate - they've tried everything, even swinging on the thing to get the nuts, it's hysterical watching them!

I wish I had a video camera or something, it's more entertaining than the rot that's on TV! The 'gymnastics' these two have got up to - I've just looked out there's three of them now - talk about determined! I've put out some extra nuts on the patio for them - which one of them has just found.....he's -or she- is busily running back up the tree now....ooh fight! Two of them are squaring up....nope - back up the tree - the one has just gone paw-claw - arm? over arm commando style across the washing line to get to the nut feeder again!

They are great fun to watch, and so clever, even my JRT's have given up trying to chase them. Mine go up side down to get at the seed feeder, and will spend hours until they finally get the bottom off the nut feeder, dispite me tying it together with garden twine (the stuff with the wire in the middle)!! I give up and just watch.
Trouble is I am meant to be "working from home" today :)
