Has anyone experience of this firm? My elderly, slightly confused mum is having them in for a quote but several people have told me not to touch them with a barge pole. Any informed comments would be gratefully received.

Years ago my late mum had them in for a quote. It was cheaper to buy a new suite than to pay their extortionate prices.

Thanks for that. That's what I was afraid of.
Another relative of mine has just had her suite recovered by a local upholsterer and even that worked out cheaper than the Plumbs quote from several years ago.

is there any chance you may be able to be with your mum when the rep calls?
Tups - have a look on Ebay - they sell covers for suites on there.

My bargain suite in my avatar photo - its Ikea I bought it on Ebay 4 weeks ago for £217.00 and it has removable washable covers.
I had mine done a few years ago, and I am really pleased with it.
When I read the title of your thread I immediately thought of prunes.
Mcmouse - have you been sniffing the cooking sherry again?

Never thought I'd get a laugh out of this thread! Thanks for all the suggestions. Time to fill up my glass now, with the fermented variety of plumb!
Enjoy!
Years ago they sent out the catalogue with a T bag. Enjoy your tea whilst you look at our stunning covers they said. What a nasty phonecall and follow up letter I got when I didn`t order.
I have just had tradional covers for two sofas, I would not have Plumbs again. The first covers they did were a disgrace, this was in February. It has taken until May to have the fabric changed and remade. I paid extra for tradional but wasn't worth the extra, pattern wasn't matched the valance was not crisp(quite wavy on corners) and as one lady said it would have been cheaper to buy new sofas. Avoid Plumbs at all cost.
