wahing machine fit in kitchen cupboard?

has anyone put their washing machine in a kitchen unit? i cant afford to buy a new integrated but the depth,widtth,height etc is fine,but i think i would hve to remove the bottom shelf of the unit to fit under the plinth but this wont be a problem will it?

no probably not but you will need to buy a matching integrated unit door for the machine door as it will probably stop your existing cupboard door closing properly

In a single kitchen unit? It would surely be too deep (front > back) to include the cupboard door, why not just remove a single kitchen unit and slot in the w/m?

Given the weight of a washing-machine, I think it would have to be ON THE FLOOR and not on any plinth 3 to 4 inches off the floor.

i was going to put it on the floor with it being so heavy,and the cupboard fitting over it if you know what i mean?the depth of the unit is 570mm,and washing machine is only 510mm so door should shut fine? i can get the units in length 600,800,1000mm so isn't a problem that way either.my w/m is a bit old and wont go with he new kitchen so wanted to hide it!!

The washing machine is 510mm, ok ... Is that including the usual gap needed for water & waste pipes?

hmm,you could have a point naz,i will have to pull it out and have alook if i can get to it,got a kitchen man coming today so will ask him,but he will prob tell me i need integrated for more money!!thanks
