Plasterboard over ceramic tiles ?
I need to half-tile my fully tiled kitchen and paint the top half.
I know it's not the most professional thing to do but removing all the old tiles is a bit daunting, so can I fix plasterboard over the existing tiles without causing problems?
Cheers.

But.......... if you're not confident with plastering, then certainly fix plasterboard.
Either ....... "dot & dab" the board onto the tiles with adhesive, or, fix vertical 25 x 50 battens to the tiles (rawlplugs and plasterboard screws), then screw board to the battens.

after a good clean you can tile over the top of existing tiles as long as they are stuck sound to wall, not sure where the plaster board came from only extra expense and time, for that not needed element , as for plaster and skim as Naz said it needs to go onto sound wall why put that onto a sound wall ,not needed, tile onto the top of existing tiles.
