Afternoon All,

I'm looking to rent a property, max price per month would be £800. I'm a bit tired of trawling through the internet myself so wouldn't mind using an estate agents. The only one I know anything about really in south east london is Acorn (who I've already contacted). Does anyone else have any recommendations of estate agents?

Cheers!

Thanks Builder, I actually have this page saved! :c) It's more recommendations for places people have used I'm after, I've received bad service from estate agents for lettings in the past. The only one I know that I've had good feedback about is Acorn.
Why don't you keep a day free, and go into all the local agents in the area you want to live. You will have to register, it really doesn't matter what agent you use .. its more important that they have the flat you want ! Be prepared to keep chasing them all by phone if they don't keep in touch with you, most estate agents really don't bother once you have walked out the door (not all, but in my opinion, most) so you have to be one step ahead. In my experience, they can't be bothered to keep in touch but if you go in on a regular basis, one of them will invariably say 'Oh, something has just come on this morning' or 'I'm just about to view a flat now' and you will be the first to see it. Good luck !

Thaks smurfchops. I've got a couple of issues with mobility at the moment so it's not practical for me to keep going in to estate agents, (I'm off work at moment). But I'm very good at hounding people :c)

Hi Dave,

East Dulwich would be the dream as that's where I lived previously but prices there are a bit ridiculous and within my budget the most I would get would be a studio which isn't suitable. When I've been doing searches on my own, it appears sydenham and norwood are the next least pricey. I don't mind Sydenham but I would only be happy with South Norwood as I don't know it as well but I have friends in South Norwood, from what I remember, the rest of Norwood is a bit of a dive. I'm trying to stay within zones 1 - 3 though if possible really. I'll have a look at those estate agents you suggested. I signed up with another one in Sydenham last night and am just waiting for them to call me back.
Furnished or unfurnished?

Blimey craft, only just seen this so sorry for delay... Furnished or at least part furnished would be best as I have some stuff but lacking big stuff like sofa and bed currently... Hope you see this! :c)
