Hi,
I am all electric in this flat, so have no choice on heating.Heating is via Storage heaters that were happy with as we back them up with some panel heaters when we need extra heating.
I checked my last bill and note our usage on the day rate, is almost identical to the night rate.
To compensate for the cheaper night rates, the day rate is more expensive.
These being pretty equal does anyone know if it wouldn't be as cheap to have it all at the regular day rate charges.
I don't have the water heater on as its too expensive for me.
Any help gratefully received. DD
i don't really get your question - as far as i can see you use (say) 100 units at day rate and 100 units at night rate. Day rate is more expensive, but you are asking if it would be cheaper to use all your electricity at day rate? Clearly the answer is no
You say your day and night usage is almost identical. Surely you mean the cost, rather than the amount of electricity used. Your storage heaters will be on all night at night rate, but you are probably using less electricity at higher cost during the day. This would make the two costs near identical. If you're using more at night than during the day it would be a mistake to change to 24 hours at the day rate.
