Sorry if I am in the wrong place it's just that I don't know were to place it.

I have lots of knitting needles so it's time I paired them off to their rightful partner, is there some kind of knitting gadget out there or do you know of a good tip to do this please

Thank you inadvance

You can buy a little gadget which has holes of various sizes, with the size number stamped on it. Mine is very old but you can, I am sure, still get something like it.

Call me old fashioned, I just size mine up by looking at the needle ends................

That's what I was going to say, they usually have the size written on the end of the needle (the fat end with the knob on that stops your stiches falling off the needle).
Sometimes you got those infernal needles when knittinig something like socks (well, so my gran told me). They don't have the number at the end.
the double ended needles alba - you can use them for cables and aran knitting as well.

Thanks for your answers,Jamesnan what is your gadget called? e.crespo these are just holes for tellins you the size of your needles, I mean something that maybe tides round them but reuseabe.
thanks annie, forgot about cables and arans (Been years sinice I've knitted anything)

Chelsie, I'm sure I saw some rubber type pre-numbered thingies in my wool shop once, unfortunately it closed some years ago
I used hair bobbles and wrote the numbers on them with permanent marker once I'd sized them on a gauge
and then when you have paired them up, put one of thise duo rubber ends onto the pair to stop then mysteriously getting unpaired again
Is it one of these that you are looking for?

Chelsie, your needles should have the number/size stamped on them - all mine have!
when everyone's got their needles matched up can they please knit me some socks to make up for the ones that have lost their partners. Thank you.
LOL jno, I've got some like that too, perhaps we could open a sock-swap shop.
And a cat food pouches swap shop too.

I can give you rabbit for some chicken in jelly.
