broken laptop

I have recently been given a laptop that I would like to fix. upon turnin said laptop on the screen doesnt come on and the laptop reboots. I would really like to fix this laptop anyone got any tips on where to begin?

ive just opened up the laptop and the ram and processor have stickers on them sayin replace with hp spare. if I replace them whats the chances it wil work?

Nobody knows.

If the CPU is faulty then replacing it will probably fix it and same for the RAM..... But as nobody has a clue what is wrong with it then just replacing parts until it works is going to get expensive very quickly.

Stick to just reseating everything and try the laptop with all the non-essential parts stripped out (hard drive, CD drive, if it has two RAM sticks try them one at a time)

I took out the disk and harddrive, remounted the processor and tried each ram stick (its ddr2 btw) I also tried the ram with the hard drive and then the disk drive and then together, there was no change at all to how it has been booting...

also (i forgot to mention this above sorry for triple posting) underneath the ram on the circuit board - maybe the motherboard- there is another replace with spare parts sticker. they all have serial numbers on. I will post these after my bird has finished messing about on youtube on my phone.

and underneath the ram:- 442875 - 001
7F0764

and on the processor:- 407159 - 002

hope someone knows what these mean and sorry for the goddamn quardruple post lol
