does anyone know what 'dunk valves' are and what they do or how they work?

Its the kind of thing fitted to say a rigid inflatable boat so it can be deflated quickly in order to pack it up, rather than waiting for all the air to escape through the (relatively small) inflation valve.
a Dump valve is also a device on a turbocharger that releases pressure when engine revs drop suddenly, eg change of gear, the only use for this is when it is a recirculating dump valve, it pushes the air back on the turbo fins, otherwise it rarley eliminates turbo lag effectively and just sounds flash
