i am distressing a pair of trousers - brown suit pants

its 1948 and the owner is skint and has nothing except these pants whch he has to wear all the time - he keeps them CLEAN but they are worn and old now, and losing colour etc.

i know round the bottom will get grubbiest, and the knees and front of thighs will go paler
the bum perhaps will be paler

but things like edges of pockets, waistband, zipper, crotch etc

will those areas fade, or go darker because of constant touching?
i imagine darker...?

anyone any thoughts?

Well, I'd go for front of thighs, knees need to go a bit baggy, bum starts to sage, crotch area (buttons not zips don't forget) starts to get shiny because of handling (no smut, please...). Back pocket starts to wear (wallet shape outlined in it).
NB those are the parts which go shiny, sides of legs could be a bit greasy from hands?
You must be joking!!!!!
It's always the zip that goes first. lol
In 1948 they had buttons rather than zips.
You could always sew on 6 buttons where the braces fasten?

they had zips too, they were invented in 1913. they became popular here in 1937
thanks all
The cuffs begin to unravel before almost everything else because of the constant rubbing on the shoes...
