How do I stop a telephone number 08456021111 that keeps calling me?
10 Answers
I keep having this telephone number 08456021111 keep calling me for the past few weeks but today, it rang 9 times!! I don't answer it because I don't recognise the number but they never leave a message. 9 times so far today is ridiculous! I think it must be some sales number but I have already registered with BT for that special no sales call number thing and we are ex-directory. Is there any way I can stop this number constantly calling me?

It is associated with BT, when someone sends a text to your house phone/landline, they phone you with the message...

As has been stated, it's BT's 'text to speech' service, which allows you to receive text messages sent to a landline.
If you answer when you're called from that number, you'll receive the text free of charge.
If you call that number yourself it will be a free call with many BT calling plans, or either ½p per minute or 2p per minute (depending upon when you call).

The same number has just called again and I answered it this time. You are all correct! It was an SMS voice message from the dentist! I thought if it was a message, it would have left the voicemail message on my answerphone but I guess it doesn't work like that. I'm glad the mystery has been solved now! Thanks everyone for your help!
