Sorry if this is the wrong category, but can't think where else to put it.
I placed an ad yesterday for the 1st time on the Gumtree site. I want to edit it today but i simply cannot get back in to do this. I can see my ad, but when I want to go further it says 'user account doesn't exist'. I have tried putting in the item number, and saying I have forgotten my password. They sent me an email to the email address they said did't exist, but when I tried to reset it I got the 'user account doesn't exist' again [and again].. Is there a phone number to ring them does anyone know please?
Thanks.

Apparently they don't give a number, someone on here might help.

You should have received an e-mail just after you put the advert in.
It would have been titled "Your ad ("item name") is about to go live".
Here's a copy of one I had recently (personal info changed)...

Hi there Answerprancer,

Thanks for posting your ad "48" Plama TV" on Gumtree, which will appear on the site soon. It can take up to 4 hours for new ads to appear, but you can view your ad here right away.

If you want your ad to stay at the top of the listings, where it will be seen by as many as six times more viewers, you can Feature your ad for £6.95.

Feature your ad now

To edit or delete your ad click here

[EDIT: PLEASE DO NOT POST PERSONAL DETAILS ON THE ANSWERBANK]

Just navigate to where your ad is in Gumtree (or follow the link from the e-mail) and open it by entering the reference number and password.

Thanks answerprancer - but I've tried that. No Joy!
Did you follow the link from the e-mail, and did it take you to the account login page ?
There are two colums there, the left is for accounts, the right - no account, that's the bit where you put in your reference number and password.
The page looks like this:
http://www.gumtree.com/account/login
Copy your reference number and password into the correct fields - I can't see why that wouldn't work, I've never had any trouble.
If this doesn't work, it looks as if you may not have hit 'save' somewhere along the line and you'll have to do it again.
I've been having trouble with the page upload. It isn't uploading it properly. There are just the writing on it and it won't let me click on the links..... Any body know why?
