Is there any way I can make the ringing function last longer than 3 rings before the 1571 kicks in? I've lost the instruction book in the move and I'm not sure if this phone allows you to do this. Thanks.

The manual is available for download at Panasonic's site and the answer is under 'Answering System Settings' can't tell you what it means without reading the whole manual and having the phone in front of me :-) Here is a shortened link to the PDF http://tinyurl.com/3dzrvmk
1571 is nothing to do with the phone, it's a service on the BT line and you can't change the delay.

But the 1571 delay is a lot longer than 3 rings.

You are a marvel fitzer. I just switched my answer machine off and it rings for ages. Doh!! I never thought of that. Thanks Chuck for your input too.
I just assumed that by 1571 Chrissa meant the answer phone :-)
