Smelly farm (again)

Whilst I appreciate that if you live in the countryside there will inevitably be country smells, but is it normal for the country smells to reek like blocked drains? Thanks

The farm across the road put in hog houses. Sometimes there's as many as 1,500 hogs in there. One mile is the limit and they put them up at one mile and one foot. Murder has come to mind several times. Because they changed the laws all I can do is put up with it and hope the wind comes out of the north.

Cheers for the constructive comments Bimbo.
I was so bad today that when I came back from shopping I ended up chucking bleach down all the sinks, etc and then I realised what it was. From comments made by people who have lived here longer than we have, it seems to be getting worse. Just wondered but if it pig sh!t I suppose it will stink - here's hoping it rains tonight.

There are restrictions to spreading slurry/manure; mainly near streams/river/reservoirs etc. You can complain to Council Environment Health if it's too near residential property.
