Hi Ed
In the interest of good housekeeping and in an attempt to protect us from identification, would you consider a process for clearing out our old posts?
I notice the posts in the topics only go back a month or so, whilst the posts listed behind our profiles go back forever. The longer we remain members and the more we post, the more difficult it is to protect ourselves from having given a pretty clear picture of ourselves.
I'd be intersted to hear the views of others, but personally, I'd be extremely happy if you would block from view or delete any posts of mine older than one month.

Me too Maidup. I don't see what purpose they serve. Perhaps we could still have access to our own old posts but see those of others that are over a month old.
A search on subject matter could still bring up old posts on that subject, but a search on a particular users questions and answers is just not necessary.

hear, hear, headwreck, the worse part of the AB experience is NO reply, even though serious subjects have been raised.
That does disappoint me and I would be very surprised if I even got a half-decent reply to the e-mail I sent the editorial team earlier tonight, expressing my concern etc about the salla case and potential linkage to very similar harassment of others.
It is frankly appalling that there is no proper follow up to what are serious e-mails that are sent in.

I'd be quite disappointed to lose my old posts (and those of others). It is after all a bank of answers rather than a chat site. Personal information only needs to be posted once for the determined to make note - look how many people know when to post it's somone's birthday for example. Sledgehammer to crack a nut IMO.
i think i am very protective of my " real life " on AB. i dont disclose where i live, my name, e.mail.my domestic situation, names of family or friends, and i certainly would never befriend an aber on facebook, but......... we may well give some information about ourselves unintentionally, im not sure about deleting history, maidup.
Afternoon.
We will not be deleting your back catalogue, except maybe in ChatterBank - and then this will be for space saving purposes in the main. The best way to stay anonymous online is not to give away loads of information about where you live, work, your name etc!
For those who don't always get a response: we don't always respond. We do however read everything.
Spare Ed.

Note what the Ed has said and forget any of my earlier posting where I may have indicated that my wife Viv and I live in Gower and are both OAPs. Also forget that Viv's sister lives about 200yards from us and that the Ed. is invited to call in upon us at any time.!! :-)
Take care with what you publish in AB....It's there for the world to see.
Ron.
