We have just bought a s/h Sky+ Box to replace our original one, and when scrolling through the channels find that there are many which say ' no signal available'. Does anyone out there have an explanation to this?
We have been able to record programmes through the planner & play them back but are frustrated at not being able to watch all channels that we pay for.

have you subscribed to the channels that say that or are they h.d and you havent got it? other than that i would contact sky for help.
Have you "linked" your Sky card to the new box?

You cant just put a Sky card in any Sky box, it has to be "paired" to the Sky box.

You need to phone Sky to do this.

Thank you VHG. We have been in touch with Sky so they know we now have a different box but it has been mentioned to us that the cable from the satellite dish to the unit needs to be 2 core for Sky+ and ours is only single for the old box therefore we don't have the full strength to give us all channels even though we pay for them. I hope you understand this. Will need to get this sorted by the sound of it but are not technically minded.
