sky tv in every room
13 Answers
if you wanted to just have one sky box and splice the cable to go to every other room in the house the same as the digital aerial cable and have two tv sockets on the back of the tv on the wall, is the solution as the whole house is currently being rewired. Can you then input two wires in the back of the tv and change AV to swap. Or do you share the digital aerial cable and take and sky cable up to the roof to meet the digital cable and put some kind of switch on it, but wouldn't this mean going to the switch to switch between sky and digital? P.s I don't really like the wireless signal boxes you can buy as a cheap option.
Thanks in advance

DTV should come into house and should be distributed via a distribution amp the same as it has always been (proper system)
If you wish to have just one distribution cable carrying Sky as well as DTV services to various TV's other than the main room with Sky box installed, then you need two cables to/from main Sky Box .. One down-lead from a masthead ampilier, and one uplead to a second multi-way distribution amp. This amp should have sky pass included so you can use a sky remote in another room to control original box. You will need to tune into the Sky 'output 2' RF channel to watch Sky in other rooms. All other rooms can view DTV so long as they have suitable decoder or integrated DTV TV.

Thanks a lot,I assume this 'sky pass' costs money? does this give you the ability to use the remote to change in one other room from the main box or more than one other room? I was quite happy saving the extra money every month to sky and just having control in one room but watch a static sky channel in every other room. If there's a cheap way of getting more rooms 'remote-able I would consider it depending on cost.
Unfortunately i don't have the knowledge to understand the rest of your answer but it looks like I need two tv leads going round the house one for sky one for digital, and have a double tv socket in each room, both connecting to different inputs? Is that right? in the tvs will I be able to plug both sources in? I have to buy all new tv's for these rooms will they come as standard?

Providing you use the correct type of compatible distribution amp, a Sky 'Magic Eye' and extra standard remote is about £10-15
(See his not on listing about amps .).

See his note about amps again ... and connecting it FROM Sky RF2 outlet.

An outlet 2 cable for Sky distribution may have to be added .. so long as it goes to loft (or wherever the cable down to other rooms are, all will work ok.

Correct.
Any room can tune into Sky RF .. so long as has analogue tuner in it, as well as digital tuner for DTV (Best remember this)
Any room can have a magic eye fitted in the incoming lead. It's just a sensor and a cable adapter.
You must keep the main Sky box in standby (plugged in) as the signal to the distribution amp is fed from it.

No .. Those ebay sellers are usually Pro suppliers or fitters who do eBay work as a sideline.
However, the best amp brands are Triax, Wolsey, Labgear, and one or two others ..
