Digital Switch Over - Lost Channels

We are in the first phase of the DSO. For some reason we have to retune twice, fourteen days apart.

I have lost many channels and have retuned several times since the day.

No matter what I do I cannot get ITV3.

The analogue signal has gone and I thought this would boost the digital signal but this morning ITV1 was so weak I could barely watch the rugby.

My aerial is good so the question is: will I recover the lost channels when we reach the second retune in about ten days time?

All of you be patient ... until the DSO is complete.
Everything will be better .. but not immediately.

We had the switch over a couple of months ago we have only just got all the channels within the last couple of days.
Even when it was first switched over it took a few days, dont listen to all the people who recomend new aerials/boosters etc, until you are 100% certain. I was convinced i did & nearly went down that route but as the official paperwork says if you can get a decent analogue signal it should be fine for digital, they are correct.

Thank you birdofprey. We're in Aylesbury too and we lost several channels from the digibox in the bedroom (a cheapie 'Technika' which cost £23 from Tescos) a few days ago. I didn't know the analogue signal had been switched off here or that we had to re-tune afterwards. I re-tuned last night and all the channels have come back. I'm sure the picture is better too and it seems it doesn't jump or freeze any more. Perhaps we'll have to do the same again on the 28th. Thanks again.

We have a Freeview box at work which seems unable to produce a picture from STV, Channel 4 or Channel 5. The channels appear in the listings section but selecting any of them from the menu just results in a blank screen.
We've done the full re-install umpteen times since our local switch over some months ago but no joy. We were wondering if the box was just too old to reconfigure to the new system but no-one we've asked so far knows.

Just to update this question.

Here in Aylesbury (Oxford transmitter) we had our final switchover yesterday.

Despite all the promises I have found certain channels (most noticeably ITV3) have even weaker signals.

I had been told that signal strength would increase as soon as the analogue signal was turned off.

Well I was lied to by many different agencies. So much for technology
