How do you get those universal telly changer things to "synch" with your telly?

The controls one one of my tellys has stopped working (don't ask ... but the fact that it's the one in the kitchen might give you a clue!!!). I've got one of those replacement changer things, but no instructions.

Does anyone know how to "synch" them to work with your own telly ????

what brand is it?, have you tried looking at the manufacturers web site, they normally have a list of codes and instructions on how to program them in.

Ooh ... I've not had damson gin for a while.

I might get some.

No, not that one either, chuck.

It's quite thin, and pointy at the bottom end, and dark grey, like a slate grey.
well thats andy, didnt it have any packaging?
*handy
Something along these lines:

Usually you have to press the standby button (or similar) then enter a 2- or 3-digit code. When the telly switches off, that's your code, so press the memory button to save it.
