have a cd stuck in my player (tape/record/radio/cd) - can't get a response from the buttons - (no worries to most of you but it's a Jonn Denver tape)

okay so I screwed up with the original question - mea culpa - I have a cd disc in the player and I can't get it to either play or eject. -I want't to get the cd out.
didoatwork - paper clip - sorry can't see where to release the disc

If its a tape, then it has probably wound itself around the spindles and bits. two options: unplug from the mains and get the cover off the unit and see if you can unwind it, or,option two, force it out, pull all the excess tape out, bin it.

to replace it: go to the boot fair and get another for 50p, or, download it to your computer from youtube. Great songs, worth replacing.

didawork -honestly , just randomly pressed buttons and the cd drawer came out - think there was a gremlin in the works - thanks very much
