My old trusty is 18 years old - the best ever for lifting dog hairs from carpets.
Maybe the older ones are better? I sold my perfect working order 2 yr old Dyson on ebay simply because it was useless at sucking up hair and stuff from carpet. In the Miele cat and dog brigade now.
I've had a Dyson for years too, it's been great especially when I had my little dog shedding a million hairs a minute.
Haha! The Dysons fight back!
Looks like you would be on a loser if you bought another one Hopkirk. The new ones are not made in England so perhaps that is where the trouble lies.
My Dyson, Derek, has lived very happily with me all his life. His siblings, Milly Cat and Dog and Henry are jealous when I praise him for his performance.
Mine was made in Malaysia.
WE have TWO Dysons and my Dad has one - all brilliant. Always recommended in Which? - along with Miele and Sebo.
agree dysons are really easy to repair as they dismantle so easily....
Subo? I didn't know she was doing cleaners now.
no, not someone I'd thought of as a scrubber, Hopkirk

Dysons are a classic example of good advertising combined with setting an artificially high price. The inflated price makes customers think the product must be so much better than other cleaners.
Other vacuum cleaners that actually perform well ie Miele, Sebo and Bosch are also pricey- in fact, the Dysons are less expensive than many of them. In reality, buy a "bargain" priced vacuum, get poor performance (Which?s conclusion).

Invest in a Miele and it will go forever!
get a cleaning lady................
