Get a Meile Cat and Dog, I've had mine several years - I have three cats and it's brilliant. It's a small bag cylinder model and it deals with hair really well.
I've a long haired GSD and the Meile Cat & Dog handles the dog hair with no problem.
Would suggest a little red Henry one as have had one for over 10 years now. You often see them in hotels whizzing around so that is all you need to know.
You are so right boxy but where will she get one for £100?
Although they are so tough and long lasting it might be possible to pick up a reconditioned one.

thanks for the fast replies.i really appreciate it.im going to have a look at the suggestions straight away.Happy New Year to everyone by the way,xx
We have had every hoover under the sun. The one we like the most is the Oreck. We have two and they are brilliant. You can buy them reconditioned if you can't afford to buy new. Their after sales and customer services are excellent.
I don't think that you will get a miele £100. We got vax powerhom 2400w and it is brilliant. It was £189 but we got it on 12 minths interst free credit from Kays and have saved up to pay it off.
Buy a Meile Cat and Dog. It will cost you a bit more than £100 but worth it.
Just to butt in here, you guys really recommend the Miele dog and cat ones? My old hoover is really struggling to pick up from Indi's super long fur stuck in the carpet! It's got so bad i've resorted to hand sweeping the ruddy carpet AFTER i've hoovered.

They can be got quite reasonably mk, from Ebay if that's the route you decide to go down, I should know, i've been perusing 'em the last few days!
B00 the year I bought mine Which voted it the best cleaner for cat and dog hairs. They are brilliant. I have the cylinder one. John Lewis are doing them for £149.99 free delivery + 2 years guarantee.
cheers ladybird- looks like im going to have to be a whole lot nicer to Mr Boo then in order to get one doesn't it? Damn it!
my lovely red henry is still in good nick and sucks up everything in sight !
had it for years and would never swop for anything different

Boo, thanks to you im confused now :)).just found miele cat and dog at currys for £149 and was thinking to get it with my best friend - credit card!! just to confirm Boo, do you think they are not good cos i was nearly convinced that is the best. thanks
One of the first questions I asked when I joined AB was this one. I bought the one that was recommended, the meile, and never regretted it. Trish was very surprised as she says it's the only electrical appliance I've bought without asking her that's been any good.
A Hoover Hurricane, absolutely fantastic and very very powerful.

We have a Vax vacuum designed for pet hair and it's really good. Maybe a little cheaper than the other one suggested :-)
Best I have ever had is a Kirby G5 (or was it G7) still have it now, it takes up every single hair. More of an investment though.

thanks for all replies.i'll try to get a copy of Which and also will have a look at Bosch hoovers. so far im thinking Miele or Henry.Have a good night everyone.x
sorry for any confusion MK, I too was asking others (admittedly cheekily on your post) if the Meile dog and cat was good or not.

I don't have a credit card and £149 is out of my price range for now, so I have to go the Ebay route.
