Microsoft Picture Manager question.

Is is possible to put a caption on a photo in Microsoft Picture Manager ?

If so, how do I do it ?

Not in Picture Manager...you will have to add the text in another editing software....Photoshop would be nice but Microsoft Paint should work ok...

I've put some old photos on my PC and want to print them off showing place, date etc.

I now realise that I haven't got Paint, and Photoshop is expensive - although I could use the trial version to achieve what I want, I suppose.

Is there any other free program I could use ?

If you are using Windows you have Paint. It is shipped free with every version of Windows.

You could try Paint.NET, a free product that has more features than Paint.

1. Load piccy to Ms Paint (accessories on your pc)
2. click on A on left menu
3. click Image & untick 'draw opaque'
4. On piccy you get a dotted resizeable square to type into
5. choose print color at bottom
6. View click text box to size print
7. Save with new file name so's you dont corrupt original
