hi i was 18 on october 27th 2004 and i didnt get a voting card. i'm not even on the electoral roll. both my parents are! whats happening? wont i get a say for the next 4 yrs!? and who do i turn to get this sorted? cheers
The local council will have sent round a form quite some months ago addresssed to " the occupier", upon which someone would have had to fill in all the people living in the house. It is too late to sort it out for this general election, but i expect you could sort it so that you could vote in local/european elections over the next 4 years by getting in touch with your local council
Quite simple. The parent who filled in the form is at fault. From memory every year you are asked to list all those who will turn 18 by a certain date to ensure that they will be on the list. Your next chance to get on the register will be in October this year.
You can also ring up your local council and ask to speak to the Electoral department - they will send you out a form and you can fill it in. I have just done this recently and was sent it the next day....hope this helps.
