Having seen guides to dental flossing - arn't you simply transferring the flossed bits from one tooth to another - as you are using the same piece of tape?
And why is it every time i try to floss -the floss tape just gets stuck and tears apart?

I can't floss either. My teeth are so crowded the floss gets stuck and breaks.

Better than it dislodging my teeth, which is what it feels like before it snaps, leaving a nasty little bit in my teeth,

I use an interdental brush. It looks like a mini Christmas tree
I like flossing- i did buy dental tape and found that alot thicker than floss? So mabe you are using a tape instead of a floss ...or mabe you would be better using tape as its thicker ....

I dont use the same bit for other teeth i make sure its a different section or a new peice...so i do go through alot x
You might want to try waxed floss instead of tape. Works for me.
Or a Teflon coated floss such as 'Glide'. It would also be wise to ask your dentist to make sure that you have no 'overhanging ledges' on any restorations between your teeth that are catching the floss.
