Test have shown that when you flush the loo, minute droplets of water can be thrown out of the pan for some distance. You could inhale these!

Heathfield, just to compound the toilet seat paranoia, I read recently that if your loo is close to your washbasin where your toothbrush is stored, you can end up ingesting all sorts of nasties when you brush your teeth. I've tried telling Mr Frog this, but he takes the 'if it doesn't kill me it will only make me stronger' stance.

Nothing hygenic about not putting things away when you are finished with them. What if we all left everything out and just covered them over when we'd finished with them ?

Mythbusters, on Quest, showed that it matters little where you put your toothbrush, everywhere is infected with faecal bugs.

I once heard a Feng Shui expert say that if the toilet seat (or the lid) is left up, all good luck/positive energy will, literally, go down the pan.

Having lived in my home with my wife and three daughters, putting the seat down is automatic for me after using the toilet.

These days, there is only the present Mrs Hughes and I at home, and she has been away for nearly three weeks, and I STILL put the seat down!

Com'on, as blokes we simply can't be @rsed putting the lid down and we know it annoys you ladies... its funny. and gives you something else to moan about ;-)
