Getting revenge on an ebay seller.
41 Answers
I bought a faulty item from a seller on ebay called tomtop or something like that from China or Hong Kong. They said they would send a replacement. That was at halloween last year. I now realise that they didn't send the replacement and because it is more than 45 days it is not worth my while opening a grievance.
What I am wondering though is if I went through tomtops page on ebay and ordered 100s and 100s of all the products they offer but then just never pay for them, would anything come from it? Could they do anything to me legally to get the payment? Or would it just be a nice revenge? I'd love to do it.
Am I taking it too far?

You could always fly to Hong Kong and kill him/her?

To be honest you can only blame yourself - you should have opened a dispute before the 45 days was up. Ebay is spot on with disputes and the case usually settled immediately. I ordered a printer last September which was faulty, the seller told me to return it but didn't refund my money. I contacted Ebay and within 30 minutes the money was back in my account!!! I have also ordered a lot of items from China and never had one problem, they are always brilliant bargains but guess I may just be lucky.
Even if you know there is an unreasonable limit of opening a dispute then a skillful rip-off merchant can convince you it is being solved until the time has past. You need to know this and not fall foul of the daft rules which as a newbie you may not. I don't accept blame is on the one ripped off simply because the site offering marketplace facilities tries to wash their hands of an issue. it is all so easy to blame the victim.
Furthermore openig a dispute against an experienced rip-off merchant may not help. Being a reasonable person you may well comply with requests to help solve the issue only to find eBay uses something you have or have not done as an excuse to find against you.
The best strategy is not to buy anything expensive from abroad where the seller is difficult to get to. And accept the place has its share of rip off merchants so try to keep the any saving made higher than any theft from yourself and so come out ahead. Of and don't rely on eBay nor Paypal to make everything right.

It was a holding case for a tablet pc and it cost £14 or there abouts. They are no longer answering my emails now when I enquire about it. Tomtop that is, not ebay. Ebay replied with a big long too long to read article mentioning taking a court case out against tomtop etc. which I am obviously not going to follow up. Think I'll give up on it. If I decide to give up on ebay totally, I may follow through with my despicable, fiendish, diabolical plan. Mwah-ha-ha(evil laugh)!
because it takes 3 weeks to arrive from china, the sellers know that after that time you will question them...so they agree to send another item...taking another 3 weeks
this takes approx 45 day... times up to open a dispute...they know this

The order from tomtop which I mentioned earlier has arrived, both items work perfectly. Took a while to get here but I didn't pay for airmail. I have bought a couple of dozen items from china, some have been a bit slow to arrive, some have taken about 4 days. I have found the chinese vendors to be very quick to reply to enquiries and very courteous. I would only make an expensive purchase though from a vendor that I have had previous successful dealings with.
If they have shown an e-mail address, paste it in randomly on any public forums you can find. 'Spider' technology is frequently used by scammers and crooks in Africa locate e-mail addresses. The seller is then bombarded with hundreds of junk mail daily for several years telling them they've inherited millions etc. It's a nightmare!
