I need to replace the part in my pendant light fitting where you place the bulb. I have bought the replacement lampholder and need to connect the brown (live) wire and blue (neutral) wire but there seems to be no indication on the fitment to show which wire goes where. Usually (on plugs) there are letters "L" "N" & "E" but there is nothing on either the old or new fitting. Can anyone help?
I've heard this before The Builder.... what difference would it make? Unless someone actually sticks his finger in the socket of course, but then they deserve a decent handshake.
Wildwood, I think he ideawith an Edison screw is that the entire light holder is safe to touch. The only way you can get a shock is to stick your finger in.
If you wire it the other way round the entire holder is live, and therefore more risky.
