Well what you you think will happen?
The input to the drill will be overloaded by over 30%, so the drill will attempt to rid itself of the power by producing more heat. That may work for a short while before the device overheats, melts and perhaps catches fire.

I haven't seen a battery drill that will accept both batteries.

Thanks, I did read you could put a lower power battery in and the drill would run slower. I have a Boschmann 18v rechargeable drill, is there another brand that would fit?

I doubt it.

Mr Alba, has had, over the years, a number of different makes of cordless items, none of the batteries were interchangeable. Each make has its own style/shape.

And Bosch have the utterly frustrating habit of changing the design of their re-chargeable batteries every couple of years, meaning you have to scour the market for replacements for your older tools.

Generally a drill would survive a slightly higher voltage battery. It will however draw more current under heavy loads and my be damaged if loaded heavily. It is also possible, though unlikely, that the transistor used in the speed controller cannot sustain the extra voltage.

As other have said, the battery simply won't fit.

Have you considered having the original battery fitted with new cells?
