My husband bought the above DVD a while ago and decided to play it this evening for the first time. There are sub titles permanently on the screen, and no way of switching them off. Has anyone had this problem, or has he got a DVD more suitable for a deaf person (if you can actually buy one like this)?

It is a Toshiba SD-140E. We have not had this problem with any other DVD's
you can turn subtitles off on the dvd remote, on your tv remote possibly and also maybe on the actual dvd menu for that particular disc.
