Cistern pipe design.

How many holes are on a cistern pipe at the part which enters the back of the toilet bowl? On ours there are three and two of them appear to have been drilled. The reason I ask is because the flush in our toilet does not swish towards the front of the bowl, just the back and I'm wondering are these two extra holes the reason for it. Maybe they should not be there.

I'm afraid I can't think where the drilled holes may be.
A common fault is that the pipe is too long (on the horizontal bit), and has been pushed too far into the WC pan. This can restrict flow greatly, since the pipe-end touches the pan body and closes the outlet.

Builder, I get what you are saying there. I think there is enough room between the rim and the pipe because I got my hand in there to feel around, yes, yuck, lol.
Builder if you imagine the hole on the connector being a nose and you are looking at it face on then the holes are drilled like ears on a koala. Maybe the holes are drilled onto the connector. Is it cone shaped with a hole in it?

There shouldn't be any need for any holes Flobs. Are you sure there's enough volume of water going down the flushpipe?
Perhaps the syphon or flushvalve aren't letting enough through.
