Cut cable on Qualcast hedgemaster
Mr Posy has unfortunately cut thro' the electric cable while cutting a neighbours very thick hedge. The problem is that he cut it about 3' from the trimmer itself so wants to take the short end off and replace it with the longer lead BUT he took the two wires out and now can't remember which way they go back - DUH! The two wires are blue and brown but the connecter things they go into are both just white plastic. Hope that is understandable and that someone can help TIA rosy

Looking at the (now) opened up handle section with the cutting blade pointing to your left and the qualcast brand label the correct orientation to read in a normal way then the brown goes to left (closet to the power button) the and the blue goes to the right. I got this info by opening up mine for you!

That is so kind of you D97x7 thank you, but I'm afraid yours seems to be different to ours - I should have said that ours is the 370, is yours? My husband is out at the moment and I can't make it look like you say. The plastic things seem to be upright in that position, one on top of the other . There is a big red handle thing on the top of the machine, is that the power?. Maybe I have read your instructions wrong? -rosy
It would be a good idea to have one of these on the plug end of the cable.
