Im very clued up on ebay due to my ebay addiction....however...was wondering if something had changed...

A seller mailed me to ask me to " let ebay know" when i recieved my item because "she couldnt access the money till then as she was a new ebayer"

Hmmm i replied that i was sure the money should be available as soon as i had paid (instantly, 10 piggn days ago) but that i would let them know upon receiptt and also leave feedback.

Got it yesterday, after 10 days :0/.....it was dirty with a wee handwritten note saying sorry item fell out the car this should wash off no problem...

Bit p1ssd off she should have at least mailed me in advance to say ..was quite disappointed to open that up! Also they have feedback for 12 months so not new user. Weird.

Thinking of leaving my first ever neutral feedback...:0/

Really though...the money is available straight away isnt it...well it always has been to me. Strange user. X

Tinks, no, dotty was commenting on this a few days ago - if someone's a new seller the money's retained for a while until ebay/PayPal make sure that the seller is bona fide. Was the 12 months feedback for the seller as a buyer until now, not as a seller? - some people buy for quite a while before they launch into selling.

You don't have to let eBay know - eBay will be looking at her feedback if she's a newby.

That's disgraceful about the condition of the item. I wouldn't leave neutral feedback, I would leave negative - items should be sold fit to put on straight away unless specifically stated otherwise. I've emailed buyers to say "sorry, slight delay, I had to wash it" if I've spotted a mark on an item as I'm packaging it. If things are marked (e.g. shoes I've worn) I always say so, so buyers can't say I've not told them.

I don't think the issue of releasing funds is odd (if she's new to selling) but people do try to pull the wool over sellers' eyes sometimes. If the item's not exactly as you expected, say so - I wouldn't leave a positive or a neutral in a case like this, it's a careless seller.
not possable to leave a negitive feedback anymore im afraid, for some stupid reason ebay wont allow it
Ah - I'd forgotten that - but you can still leave some suitable wording in the text box, that the item was sold soiled.

Thanks v much- i thought it was weird about the money but i stand corrected!!!

I was annoyed, like i said even an email warning me would hve been nice ...

Going to mail them before leaving my feedback - theyll prob leave me rubbish comments as a buyer which annoys me cos i paid instantly x

Think theyve been selling since around may ... It was a little tracksuit to lounge around the house in and both the too and bottoms were dirty so it makes me wonder if it was dropped tbh -x
Tinks, I would return it and ask for a refund. If you didn't receive it as she described it then you can return it.
Tinks, was the item not as described ?, if not I would send it back and get a refund.
lol, crossed posts there, vodka.
Lol great minds and all that! ;)
Buyers can leave neg feedback, sellers can't
buyers CAN leave negative feedback BUT i would email for attempted refund first!
... and if you get no joy, open a dispute on eBay under the heading "item not as described".

Well it washed ok so i figured ive kind of "used it" cos i washed it..... Ill
Probobly keep it and have emailed seller
To say i wasnt happy xx
knockavvaca,
why can't buyers leave negative feedback anymore??? I had two ebay shops, and had one or two twits leaving negative feedback, and i think if its a genuine reason then it's o'k. is this another e-bay money making scam, like free postage, don't want to scare potential buyers off, so they get their commision?
Percy.

They changed it percy..i couldnt leave bad once after a dispute with a sale....the girl left me bad feedback EVEN though ebay ruled in my favour...i had to leave a comment, but it came up as green/positive :0/ xx
ys that's right what boxy said above, if you are new to selling they will hold payment for 21 days unless feedback is recieved or you can add a tracking number to the listing once despatched.
I've sold £310.71 worth in just over 3 weeks and that's just the sale prices. not including the postage , some people don't bother even leaving feedback but the money does get released after the 21 days and so it's ok. I'm not running out of stuff yet either!
