I am trying to download pictures from a Canon EOS 300D digital camera but there is a problem with the computer accepting the hardware. I cannot find the hardware installation CD to load on to the computer. Is there an online hardware installation 'page' that I can use.
It works with my Canon Powershot camera but not the EOS one.
I assume you have the correct cable to connect camera to PC.
Once you have done that open Win Explorer(not Internet Explorer).
Click on 'My Computer' or whatever you have.
The camera 'should' then show as an external storage device.
You can then move images by copy & paste or drag & drop
I have a Canon EOS 300D. I cannot download images to a computer using the connector cable - you need to install the software from the supplied disc to do so.
Incidentally, it uses a CF card, not SD.
You can get a card reader, not necessarily that one, to read CF cards, the pictures will also download faster. Canon insist that you have the original CD and then the software will update itself.
Try looking in programmes, it might be there, although if it was I'd have thought it would kick in when you connected the camera, I'm no expert though.
