Years ago one was able to transfer images from newsprint by rubbing it with turps onto your paper.This doesn't work now as the newsprint is made in a different way.Anyne know of a way to transfer images from one surface to another that you can do at home without screens,just by rubbing or whatever?I used to like the vague/part images the above technique resulted in,so I'm not looking for a perfect finish necessarily,just another image to use in a mixed media piece of work.Any other ideas for his kind of dreamy,blended look?Thanks in anticipation!

I don't know if it would work, but you could try photocopying the newspaper image and using the turps as before, it may smudge but maybe worth a try. Another one of transferring images, but not sure if this is the look that you would want to achieve as it is more of a transparency, is to take a small image, cover it completely with clear packing tape and after getting rid of any bubbles or creases, soak it in water and rub the backing paper off so that the image is left behind - I hope I have explained this well enough :)
