This is a serious enquiry. I know about creationism versus evolution and I have listened to the arguments on both sides. I find that I have a complete lack of knowledge of how the Muslim faith deals with that type of arguement. I don't even know if they have a creation story. Please let me know (in simple terms)

Islam is (like Judaism, Christianity and the Baha'i Faith) an Abrahamic faith, in that all of those faiths can trace their roots back to the same prophet (Abraham). There is no universal belief among Muslims regarding the issue of old vs new Earth (i.e. Earth created 4.5 billion years ago as a consequence of the Big Bang, with life developing via Evolution (a mechanism for doing so, created by Allah) vs Earth created 6,000 years by special creation, and life being poofed into existance as is, by Allah). Both camps have adherants.
Many Muslims - I believe our own SkyPlus among them - accept evolution by means of natural selection, except in the case of Homo sapiens who definitely are not related to the other primates, even though they are and it can be demonstrated scientifically. Fewer accept that humans arose via the generally accepted position of evolution from a hominid ancestor.
