The deepest tube station is Hampstead on the Northern Line at 58.5m (192) below ground level. The lifts here have the largest vertical rise on the system at 55.2m (181'3").
The deepest part of the underground is where the Northern Line runs below Hampstead Heath, the rise of the Heath above making the rails over 67m (220) below the surface.
The lowest point on the system is just south of Waterloo station on the Northern, where the tracks are 21.3m (70) below sea level.
A great site for all things underground is http://www.starfury.demon.co.uk/uground/front.html
