Having downloaded that app you were talking about i was thinking YEH i can do this.....brill.......then.......almost when i got my itune song saved to my computer (as instructed on utube) the save wouldnt occur as a message appeared saying an error occurred and my song could not be saved to my computer.....to then.....i presume be saved onto my itunes......to then sync again and ........ eventual 'hey presto?!?!?'

Och, am fair scunnered, having a technologically challenged evening, anyone out there that can help me further? Have googled, and there are all sorts of ways of fixing, one being to delete all media then begin the process again....which i am kind of reluctant to do as i may lose them all? Just want z ringtone, surely nae that complicated?..........for me even?

I didn't use iTunes frilly, I used the app from my phone. Is the music you want to use for a ringtone on your phone?

Click on the ringtone app on the phone, it'll ask you to tap to pick a song, the list of songs on the phone will come up, tap song you want and follow instruction.

Yeah did that but there was a tutorial which i watched which explained that itunes needed to be used but maybe not eh? Its called ringtone?

Mine's called Ringtone Designer, I've just made myself a new ringtone on it just to prove to myself that it still works and it does. Try it and see how you get on and come back and let me know.

Sorry to interrupt, I have just downloaded the app RR was talking about. It's called Ringtone Designer. It works for me on my iphone 4s.

Just remembered, you do have to sync it into iTunes, forgot about that, and it is a tad confusing. When child number 2 gets off my desktop I'll go up and sync it in and see what's what.

I didn't have to do that Rocky. It says to me to press play then my entire itunes library comes up and it asks you to select the song you want and you can crop it to the bit you want as the ringtone.

I've the iPhone 3GS so it's a bit dated, I can create the ringtone, then I have to go to iTunes file sharing, whatever the bugger that is. I'll go and have a look in a bit. I want a newer iPhone!

What's the logo for your app, mine's a blue musical note like iTunes, but another app with the same name has an orange musical note.

Voddy, is the ringtone you created actually allocated to you as a ringtone.

Right here goes

Hook phone up to itunes
click on frilly's iphone
There will be headings, summary, info, apps,tones.
click on apps
Scroll down to just below where all apps are shown and double click ringtones
A list of tones you have made via the ringtone app will show up
Click and drop the tones you want into the left hand column under library
Go back tones (next to summary, apps etc)
It'll show the tones you dragged and dropped
select the ones you want and sync the phone (click apply bottom right on screen)
When done go into settings on phone, sounds, ringtones and tick which one you want.

Phew, does that make sense?

Brilliant rocky. Cheers again for all ur help.....BUT......its the click and drop thingy thats nae working......nae sure if its format. I get error saying cannot 'do' SAVE or something, file error......lol will nip back on if you need more
