Wedding music that isn't boring...

I am trying to compile a wedding reception playlist for during our meal and drinks. But I am struggling... I have thousands of tracks on my PC and an eclectic taste in music but a good portion of what I enjoy is too upbeat/loud/what you would dance too. Whilst I like Classical and more chilled out music I want to be able to enjoy listening to the playlist again and again and it not be boring. I was hoping for it to be a bit different to the norm, a little out of the ordinary. As much as I like the classics you would find at a wedding/reception I wanted this to be different. I am in my 20's and the other half doesn't care what we listen to really =)

So any suggestions on tracks/artists... Just don't want 'middle of the road' but at the same has to be able to play and not disturb conversation.

So far have things like Black Keys, Nouvelle Vague, Bob Dylan, Beach Boys, Ray Lamontagne, Otis Redding....

Thanks

light jazz?
Having said that, we didn't play tracks during our wedding meal, we hired a harpist, she played throughout.
We had this prepared, but didn't get to use it in the end: http://grooveshark.co...some+As+Ours/65614227

Thought you wanted wedding music that wasn't boring???
The Corrs, Al Greene, Walker Bros, Amy Winehouse, Savage Garden, Air Supply, Texas etc etc... There are literally 1000s I could list you could play, I've done 100s of weddings where they want background soft music, most send a list but leave it to your expertise in the end. I take the whole CD collection to every gig and pick tracks at random from all eras to suit the range of ages that will be there. Maybe ask a few of your guests who they like and incorporate some of those artists into your mix but pick their quieter work. A good range of styles, tempos and decades is the key, nothing upbeat or too bouncy, you just want the feel to be chilled. Any probs get in touch and I'll compile you a list of maybe a 100 tracks, that should be enough to cover your afternoon. Good luck.

How about suggesting some music Joeluke instead of just criticising or is that too hard a task?

Thanks to the others who answered will take it all on board - weddings are boring anyway in my opinion but I was hoping the music would keep people entertained a little.
