Does anyone know the role of a sponser at a confirmation? I know I have to walk down the aisle but not sure if I have to do a reading or something?!

No such luck!

The sponsor vouches that the confirmation candidate is suitable to become a full member of the Church (usually an "I do" or "We will" etc. The sponsor is usually a close friend who can help the candidate grow in the understanding of their faith.

The bishop anoints the candidate on the forehead with Chrism, then he places his hands on the candidate's head and prays that the Holy Spirit will enter them just like on the day of Pentecost.

You will most likely have to rest your hand on one the candidates shoulders, and smile.  The big bish may ask the candidate a few questions such as why did you choose that name and what were they the saint of etc, but other than being there and affirming with the rest of them, you just have to look the part.  Enjoy.

Oh, forgot, you might be required to tell the bish the name that the candidate has chosen.
When my sister made her confirmation many years ago i was her sponsor.I had to introduce her to the Bishop & he asked me my name & what relation i was to the person making her confirmation. He blessed my sister on the forehead & said a prayer. He then shook her hand & mine & off we went back to our seats.
