AOL Spam
3 Answers
Any ideas how to stop spam in AOL? I've put in domain names; words such as claim, PPI, compensation, etc etc, yet I am getting upwards of 30 a day with the same words in the subject or domain name. The more I try to stop them the more I get. I don't want to block mail from everyone not in my address book in case I miss something important. Help!

To Avoid spam mails, If you are receiving spam emails on your account and they do not stop, you can go to AOL Keyword: Names to create a new Username for personal use. You can only share this new Username with your family and friends while you continue using your master Username in public areas such as member profiles, message boards, or websites. You can have up to seven different Usernames on your AOL account, so don't hesitate to create a new one.
Now If you haven't opened the email message, you can report the unsolicited email that you received by clicking the Report Spam or Notify AOL button at the bottom of your mailbox. If you opened the email message, these options are available at the bottom of the opened email window.
If these options are not available in your mailbox, you can forward unsolicited emails to the email address [email protected], Please forward the original mail and not a copy-paste in a new mail.

Thank you both for your replies. I am not responding to any spam - it is getting deleted. What I can't understand is, that despite using AOL spam filters - ie blocking domain names and putting in relevant words eg claim, PPI so that AOL recognises them as spam they are still getting through. In other words, AOL spam filter isn't filtering them.
