In the meantime it's worth remembering that you've got a natural refrigerator (literally) right on your doorstep. If you need to keep something cool, simply put it in a plastic bag (to keep it clean) and place it outside. (I've not got a fridge but my milk, cheese and beer are in my external meter cupboard. It's around 5C here at the moment, falling to 3C overnight. That's close to the 4C to 8C range that a domestic fridge normally runs at).

IfIm reaing your query correctly, the freezer side is working properly but the fridge doesn't get cold... which isa typical discription of a failure of the moderating valve (actually a little door) bween the freezer and the fridge. I's thermostaticaly controlled and you can see it... probably close to the top of the fridge (I'm assuming a side-by-side model). It's easily replaced but you should also be able to lift the drive connection (a small rod) and on it manually for the time being.
See, the freezer is the only source of cold air from the compressor and then then goes from the freezer into the fridge through the little door I'm trying to describe.... luck!

i put it on a shopping mode last night( which is for when your putting shopping in if the door has been open a while... checked it this morning and the temp is saying "2" yet the back wall of the fridge feels warm to touch... i dont know where this little door is what your saying i cant even see a drain hole anywhere.... this is all we need in the run up to christmas my freezer is full so cant even turn it off for 24hrs to see if that helps
Have you checked it with a separate fridge thermometer and not just relied on what the digital reading of the fridge/freezer is or is it obvious that the food inside isn't as cold as what it should be. Sorry but I never buy any household electrical items , ie fridge/freezer or washer/drier due to if one part goes wrong the whole lot has to be replaced. Hope you find a solution.
Will a room thermometer go low enough. May do, but it probably is the thermostat so perhaps nothing you can do until engineer comes out. As previous postings suggest, the weather outside is very cold and I understand the forescast is to stay cold. If you have a cool box use that to keep bottles clean and also put freeze blocks inside if you have them. Should be okay until engineer comes.
aside from the little motorised flap mentioned above, could be the auto defrost is not working in the freezer. either heating element or one of the thermo sensors failed. Try doing a proper full defrost emptying out freezer. If after that it works for 12 to 48hrs but then gets warm again this will be the problem.
Also maybe ice on the fan or worse still control board 'brain' £ault.
could even be that some of the vents are blocked if your freezer is chock full.
