We live in the Northern Dales. I'm going to take a pic and post it as we are 1300 ft above sea level and our fields are almost covered in water, our poor sheep standing on the 'hills' left between the mini lakes and the horses refused to go out this morning so are inside eating hay and quite happy thank you. We are in essence cut off from getting to any shops as although on a hill we have invariably got to go downhill to get to any shops and all the roads are flooded. It is tossing it down with a vengeance - whats it like where you are?

We have had some roads closed. Quite alarming really.
Total mess as to the roads, but the clean up is on - Saturday night was the worse with several places cut off, the local village all but marooned (just our lane giving access) with water in road "depressions", even the A30 was closed in several places.

Personally, the drive is ruined - thank goodness, I was thinking about having it resurfaced over the summer but what came down was unbelievable, three inches of water - the lane hill behind totally awash......it crashed through to the lower garden. Two heavy branches down and maybe a third one as I have yet to look, the house ok and watertight - that's where I put the investment in the stone mason this year! Light in comparison to what you hear and see from St Just, Newlyn, Helston, St Austell etc.

Trust/hope Lady J is ok
We're lucky, we're on high ground, there's a lot of water in the fields and the garden's absolutely sodden, put up a bow-wave walking on it. The road down to the beach is covered in debris washed off the banks, because it's steep it usually turns into a river when it rains hard.

Well its dry here and quite sunny - which inevitably means it is going to rain. The lawn is just one big muddy puddle and the poo lorry has been this morning and pumped out the septic tank thingy, so I assume we have more on the way.
Came back to a good tree down in the lane this morning, between going out and returning, two of the farmer's crew out with their chainsaws and largely removed.....
how does somebody manage to get a removal on such an innocuous thread? Well there are the plonkers around, I guess
Probably one of the famous spammers, DT, nothing significant.
Any damage to your property DT ?.
The local dam has burst, flood alerts, but so far, not too bad.
not to the house, the garden yes.
Ok chez toi, Tony?
Yep, just read your post further up the thread.
Oi DT are swearing at me in foreign tongues lol.
