What is the difference between 'perfume' and 'eau de toilette', if there is one?!

Perfume is stronger and fuller, the smell tends to last longer - it also tends to come in smaller bottles and not have a spray head. Hence the reason it is more expensive.
Basically down to dilution. eau de toilette is parfum with more alcohol in it to thin it out, so it is, as stated above, weaker.
After a recent visit to Grasse in Southern France, the home of perfume, I vaguely remember that perfume contains about 20% essence whereas EdT is 5-10%.
