I have a built into the worktop, gas hob and electric oven. I want to renew them as they were in when I came in the place.
I was thinking of going all gas as my electric bill is quite high. Has any one any experience of buying these ?
I would like a fan assisted but not dearest, just basic , is good.

Do you do a lot of cooking over the year ? It's just that I figure the difference in running costs for an electric oven over a gas one may not be that significant unless it's used all day. If you've sorted your water heating and house heating, that's the main energy consumers.

In your shoes I'd decide on a price, see what's about that you like the look/sound of, then go hit the review sites (web search for them) to get expert opinion regarding the models in your short list, and customer reviews too.
Fitting costs will be less if you stick with an electric oven unless you have a gas feed already in place.
Wouldn't a fan in a gas oven blow it out?

Thank you OG and shoota.

You have given me good advice to think about, maybe it will be best to stick with the electric oven
all our lives we have had gas,we heard all the horror stories of the cost of electric ovens until our gas one packed up and we were given a new fan assisted oven.
Best thing we ever did, still got a gas hob though...it may be more modern ovens are more cost effective.
One advantage of having gas hob and elect.oven,is that in the
event of a cut off of either of the supplies you have always got
the alternative supply to cook with.
